Behind the #MeltingGreenland Project

Behind the project

On August 14, 2021, unprecedented rain fell for the first time in recorded history at Greenland’s ice sheet summit. The historic rain event dumped 7 billion tons of water, enough to generate hydropower. Extreme weather events linked to climate change are leading to irreversible impacts on the planet. A long-time advocate for the earth and the climate, we sponsored the premiere of Home, a documentary film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in 2009 and climate change documentary Before the Flood presented by National Geographic and featuring UN Messenger of Peace Leonardo DiCaprio in 2021. This year, in continuation of our dedication to empowering people through environmental education, we initiate our latest project with the support of Taiwan’s United Daily News and Vision Project – Melting Greenland – a 23-day expedition across the Arctic to see the impacts of climate change up close. Melting Greenland is supported by the World Climate Foundation and the Climate Group and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and the documentary will debut at the World Climate Summit during COP27. WE KNOW THE SOLUTION. WE ARE THE SOLUTION, AND WE ARE NOT WAITING. 16 JULY 2022 Together towards a greener world with O’right #bethechange #greenlandicesheet #meltingglacier #extremeweather #climatechange #documentary #environmentaleducation #arctic
