O’right green salons play a major role as the promotor of green living and green beauty. Beauty is not just about the perfect hairstyle, but also about the beauty you inject into your life, the changes you make to make it better. Green beauty can take you towards a better future.

Promote green living through art

“We don’t only transform hairstyles into works of art with our hands, but also give new life to old goods,” said June Ng, owner of O’right De Tags Hair Salon located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. His love for beautiful things led him to the world of hair and beauty, and also introduced him to sustainable living. In 2014, June fell in love with O’right’s green values, award-winning natural products, sustainable practices incorporated in every aspect and the green lifestyle we so wholeheartedly promote.

As an environmental advocate and artist, June believes that protecting earth is a passion and a responsibility. Motivating others to take green actions in daily life such as reusing plastic bags may seem like just a simple task, it creates the bigger picture of leading children, friends and families by example in the area of sustainability values.

“It’s intriguing how beautiful things attract attention with such ease,” June mused. Displayed in June’s salon are empty O’right product bottles that June turned into extraordinary pieces of art. His creative mind was inspired by his desire to not cause unwanted waste. June jokes that the first thing regular customers do when they visit his salon isn’t to discuss what kind of hairstyle they want, but to look around to find if there are any new artworks. He believes that this is a great opportunity to share his thoughts and stress the importance of reusing resources and adopting a sustainable lifestyle. When hairdressers and customers get together for an appointment, their interaction can go beyond the service itself; they should be able to have friendly conversations that don’t evolve around hairstyles. June’s knack for creativity inspires customers to collect empty O’right bottles and bring them to June for him to use his magical hands and turn them into one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Art may not be able to change climate change, but it can inspire others to value and embrace the importance of enacting green change in their life.

The environment has an impact on our lives the same way humans affect the environment. In 2015, a massive earthquake shook Sabah, not only terrifying local Malaysians but also awakening them to the horror that climate change may and is likely to cause. “I hope that my art can stimulate creative imagination and raise eco awareness. Little things can make a big difference; we can all do something for our planet,” June added. “The O’right green experience awaits at O’right De Tags Hair Salon, a place where you’ll find recycled chairs and boxes in addition to art.”
